other experience
[see directing resume]
As a playwright, Bob Jude Ferrante is a total nutjob. For
example, in The New
Life, recently commissioned and workshopped by Praxis
Theatre Project NYC, genetically engineered mythical centaurs and gryphons
bar a famous newscaster's clone from world takeover. What? Exactly. Bob's evening
Twinges
(21 nasty, brutish, and short plays) played NYC Fall 2002 and garnered kudos
from the NY press. His short Scene Analysis was finalist for Actor's Theatre
of Louisville's Heideman award and along with his short Men's has been
produced in festivals everywhere from Seattle to London. His full-length
comedies Tragedy and subCity had recent New York runs and his dark comedy
Hemlock, a Greek Diner Tragedy premiered in Dallas to critical
raves. Bob's
work is regularly published in Smith and Kraus' Best Stage Scenes and Best
Monologues series.
With 13 years experience producing his own and others' work in NYC, Bob
naturally serves as Managing Director of Sanctuary:
Playwrights Theatre, a NYC-based coalition of
playwright/producers. Sanctuary: recently produced the very successful Six
Nights site-specific series.
